Vessel Safety Improvement Grants
Help with applying for funding for vessel safety
The Fisheries and Seafood Scheme is now open to deliver its final year of funding, providing valuable grants to match-fund projects over the next year.
Up to £6 million is available through this scheme to support projects in a variety of areas, including:
- Health and safety
- Processing and production
- Partnerships
- Research
- Business diversification

UK Seafood Fund has grant aid available for non-mandatory work
Minimum grant value £100,000 maximum grant value £500,000
- To improve safety onboard fishing vessels
- To test new health and safety equipment
- Safety equipment at ports such as safer means of boarding fishing vessels (both in and out of water) such as new slipways, walkways, steps, etc
- Training to support safety improvements
- Improve working conditions
- Benefitting multiple beneficiaries – for example, a local authority purchasing health and safety equipment for hundreds of local vessels
